A very interesting and rare model of an early 19th Century oak ottoman, octagonal in shape with beautifully carved wood sides, lift-up top, standing on castors (which are unusual and may be a later addition, we believe it may be better without them, personal preference), with beautiful newly upholstered buttoned seat.
It appears to have the original paper lining internally, and the inside of the lift-up top, which is fixed by hinges. As you can see from the pictures, there is a narrow strip of the paper missing, this could be re-covered (again, personal preference).
A really wonderful interiors piece, an attractive large addition to seating and storage in your home. This is a good, period, ottoman or stool.
