An extremely rare, handsome rosewood stool made by Charles Bulstrode, a cabinet maker working at 50 Paddington Street, Marlebone, London briefly between 1820 and 1839.

Stamped by the manufacturer to the underside. Pieces from this cabinet maker don't come onto the market very often.

Wonderful proportions with good height. Very well carved legs and extremely heavy and sturdy.

The stool has just been re-upholstered by ourselves in a fabulous material with a slight Chinoiserie influence.

Wonderful colour and patina, a really good piece of honest period furniture.
